Renting this safely
When is the security deposit refunded? The deposit is returned after the item comes back in the condition it went out in. Agree the return date on WhatsApp before you collect, and take dated photos at handover. If the owner holds your deposit, that is a dispute between you and them - RENTAL PAY LO holds the money only when you pay through us.
What does the verified badge actually mean? It means someone at RENTAL PAY LO confirmed the owner is who they say they are. It does not mean the item was inspected or tested, and it does not vouch for the accuracy of the listing.
Should I pay a booking advance to strangers? Meet the item in person before committing to a long rental. For a first rental, pay on collection rather than in advance. A one-day rental you have seen and handled is a much smaller risk than a month you have not.
